1. Who we are
This website, epointlab.com (the "Site"), is operated by EPoint Lab, a business and management consulting practice of EPoint Corporation ("EPoint Lab", "we", "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the Site, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies only to this Site. Information collected in the course of a consulting engagement is governed by the agreement for that engagement.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form on the Site, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, your email address and the content of your message. Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as government identification numbers, financial account details or health information) in your message.
Information collected automatically. When you submit the contact form, we record the Internet Protocol (IP) address and the date and time of the submission. We use this information to protect the Site against abuse, automated submissions and misuse. In addition, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security and operational purposes, which may include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit.
Fonts. The Site displays text using fonts delivered by Google Fonts, a service of Google LLC. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files directly from Google's servers, which means your IP address is transmitted to Google. Google's handling of that information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about our services;
- manage our relationship with existing and prospective clients;
- protect the Site and our systems, including by detecting and preventing spam, abuse and security incidents;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not use the information you submit through the Site for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Legal bases
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process your personal information on the following legal bases: your consent, which you give when you send us a message through the contact form and which you may withdraw at any time; our legitimate interests in responding to inquiries, operating and securing the Site and developing our business; and compliance with legal obligations that apply to us.
5. Cookies and tracking
The Site does not set cookies, and we do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking technologies on the Site. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
6. How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. Companies that host the Site and deliver it to your browser (Hostinger International Ltd. and its affiliates) and that provide the business email service through which we receive your messages (Google LLC, Google Workspace). These providers process information on our behalf and under contractual obligations of confidentiality and security.
- Legal requirements. When we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation or legal process, or is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business, in which case the recipient will be bound by this policy.
7. Retention
We keep messages received through the contact form for as long as necessary to respond to you and to manage our relationship with you, and thereafter for the period required to maintain reasonable business records or to comply with legal obligations. Technical data used to protect the contact form against abuse is stored in hashed form and is automatically discarded within one hour.
8. Security
The Site is served exclusively over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to the messages we receive is limited to the people who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and the information you provide through the Site is processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those of your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections, for such transfers.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our processing of it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given. If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any of these rights, contact us as described below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. If you are located in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
11. Children
The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date shown above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
13. How to contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your rights, please reach us through the contact form on our homepage, or reply to any message you have received from us. We will respond as promptly as we can.
